Vallarta Supermarkets continues its expansion through the Inland Empire, this time breaking ground June 26 for a store coming to Jurupa Valley.
The supermarket will span 51,648 square feet, anchoring a new shopping center of 117,300 square feet.
The Van Nuys-based, family-owned chain features a variety of small shops within the grocery store where customers can shop fish, desserts, tortillas, cheeses, fruit and marinated meats. The store even has a guacamole station, where shoppers can customize their favorite avocado mash.
A representative with Vallarta said the new store should open by mid-2026.
Vallarta, which is celebrating 40 years in business this year, has 60 stores in California, recently adding locations in Hemet and Colton. It also has Inland stores in Hesperia, Victorville and Indio.

Plato’s Closet thrift store opens in new spot
The thrift store Plato’s Closet has reopened with a new owner and a new location in Temecula.
The resale store at 41377 Margarita Road, Suite 102, caters to local teens and young adults who want to make some money selling their gently used clothes. The store then sells that clothing and accessories.
Barbara Bennett bought the Temecula franchise earlier this year, with 11 former employees returning to the new store.
How Plato’s Closet works:
Sellers bring in their clothing and accessories, with no appointment necessary. Employees then evaluate the clothing for resale and offer cash on the spot to the seller.

Plato’s Closet is part of Winmark – the Resale Co., a national resale franchise.

Vehicle recall: Ford is recalling 850,000 cars across the U.S. because a low-pressure fuel pump inside the vehicles can fail and potentially cause an engine stall while driving. The recall, AP reports, covers Ford and Lincoln-branded vehicles made in recent model years, such as Ford Broncos, Explorers and F-150s, as well as Lincoln Aviators and Navigators. If you own one, be on the lookout for letters coming from Ford.
