Three Inland girls water polo players received top honors earlier this week when the CIF Southern Section released its honors for the 2024-25 season.
Murrieta Valley sophomore River Elliott was selected the Division 2 Player of the Year after helping the Nighthawks win the program’s seventh section title. Elliott scored two goals during the Division 2 championship match as Murrieta Valley walked away with an 8-6 victory over Downey.
Elliott is the sixth player in program history to be chosen a Southern Section divisional player of the year. She joins past winners Kristen Stragier (2007), Torrey Kylander (2008), Paige Virgil (2012), Delayne Lynton (2016) and Jaden Soto (2023).

Elsinore senior Raygan Carroll was selected the Division 3 Player of the Year after leading the Tigers to the first section championship in program history. Carroll, who is headed to Cal State Northridge, scored six goals in the Division 3 title match as Elsinore rolled to a 21-13 win over Flintridge Sacred Heart.
San Dimas senior Faith Kearns was selected the Division 4 Player of the Year after helping the Saints capture the program’s first section championship. Kearns scored three goals in the Division 4 final as San Dimas cruised to an 9-2 victory over Troy. She also played basketball during the winter season.
An additional 23 Inland players were selected to the first team in their respective playoff divisions.
Alta Loma junior Carly Berzins was recognized for the third time in her career. She was the Division 4 Player of the Year as a freshman, the Division 2 Player of the Year as a sophomore, and a Division 1 first-team selection this season.
Murrieta Valley’s Bryan Lynton, Elsinore’s Audra Woods and San Dimas’ Jessee Johnston were honored as divisional coaches of the year for guiding their teams to section championships.
