Stater Bros. Markets is opening Wednesday, June 25 in the Greenspot Crossings shopping center in Highland.
The store at at 27920 Greenspot Road replaces a longstanding Stater Bros. at E. Highland Ave.
The San Bernardino-based supermarket chain notes that the new store, at 46,000 square feet, is nearly double the size of the store it is replacing.
The Greenspot store will feature meat, seafood, deli and bakery departments, in addition to a large selection of pantry goods and produce, sushi and fruit stations.
The grand opening begins with a ribbon-cutting at 8 a.m. with Citrus Valley High’s school band providing live music.
Stater Bros. Charities also is donating $30,000 to six local nonprofits which include Highland District Council on Aging, Highland Head Start, Citrus Valley High School ASB, Loma Linda University Pediatric Clinic, American Legion Post 421 and the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Council.

Christian fashion available at Redlands store
The Christian streetwear brand Churchlingo Clothing launched its first in-store presence at Selah Christian Store in Redlands.
The brand founder, Aleah Harris-Hosea, says her fashion line “is more than just clothing, it’s a movement.”
“We’re on a mission to help believers express their faith boldly, fashionably and confidently through everyday wear,” she said.
Harris-Hosea got her start creating art on the walls of a cafe in Montgomery, Alabama. When she and her husband moved to Southern California, she started making clothing that featured her art.

Commission members needed in Yucca Valley
The town of Yucca Valley is seeking applicants for the Parks, Recreation and Cultural Commission.
Interested residents should submit an application to the town clerk at townclerk@yucca-valley.org by 5 p.m., Friday, July 18.
The commission of five works in an advisory capacity regarding public leisure services, public art and the development of open space, parks and recreational facilities.

Palm Desert McD’s property sells for $2.4M
A 4,000-square-foot McDonald’s property in Palm Desert sold for $2,444,000.
Marcus & Millichap represented the buyer, an unidentified family trust in the 1031 exchange.
The 10-year-old fast-food building comes with nine years left on its lease. The McDonald’s sits at 78365 Varner Road, adjacent to the 10 freeway.
Circle K property sells for $3.5 million
A newly built Circle K convenience store and gas station property in Coachella sold for $3.51 million in a 1031 exchange.
The 4,625-square-foot Circle K sits on a 1.26-acre pad at 50200 Cesar Chavez St.
The property comes with a 15-year ground lease, according to Hanley Investment Group, which represented the seller and developer, Fountainhead Development in Newport Beach.
Aaron Bove at Marcus & Millichap in San Diego represented the buyer, an unidentified investor in San Diego.
“Investor demand for well-located corporate-leased convenience stores with a gas station remains strong, driven by their essential nature and consistent performance, even amidst economic fluctuations,” said Bill Asher, an executive vice president at HIG.

Inland Empire spared: The eight At Home store closures in California does not include Inland Empire locations. The retailer, which sells a broad array of housewares and decor in massive, Costco-sized stores, filed for bankruptcy protection last week. Part of the Texas-based company’s restructuring plan includes closing 26 stores nationwide. In Southern California, stores are closing in Orange County (3), Long Beach (1) and Pasadena.
Habit Burger deals: The burger chain has three value meals available through July 9, according to food reporter Fielding Buck. Prices range from $6-$10. Buck noted the deals come a year after McDonald’s introduced its $5 meal deal. In other fast food news, Buck reported that Taco Bell launched crispy chicken strips in three new items on Tuesday, June 17.
