Several Inland softball teams played CIF Southern Section second-round playoff games Saturday. May 17.
Here are some highlights from those games.
DIVISION 1
Norco 13, Oaks Christian 1: Read the full story here
Chino Hills 4, Huntington Beach 0: Nadia Juarez tossed a five-hitter to lead the Husies (21-8) to a second-round road win. Leilani Allen gave Chino Hills the lead with an RBI single in the second inning. Sophia Tice singled home a run in the fifth inning, and Kyler Del Duca hit a solo homer in the seventh. Allen and Brett Lambrecht had two hits apiece for the Huskies. Chino Hills travels to top-seeded Norco on Wednesday.
Ayala 3, Murrieta Mesa 2: McKenzy Becerra doubled home the winning run with one out in the bottom of the eighth inning to lift the fourth-seeded Bulldogs (21-2) to a second-round home win. Murrieta Mesa (18-8-1) grabbed a 1-0 lead in the first inning. Ayala scored twice in the sixth. but Mesa tied the score with a run in the seventh. Lilianna Acosta allowed one run and two hits in four innings of relief to earn the victory. Ayala plays at La Mirada on Wednesday.
Temescal Canyon 8, Valley View 0: Jessenia Moore threw a four-hitter with eight strikeouts to lead the Titans (20-5) to a second-round home win. Natalie Castro hit two home runs and drove in five runs to lead the offense. Brea Tillery added a pair of solo homers for the Titans. Temescal Canyon hosts second-seeded Etiwanda on Wednesday.
Etiwanda 3, La Habra 1: Alyssa Galindo tossed a five-hitter with six strikeouts in leading the second-seeded Eagles (23-3) to a second-round home win. Brianna Gutierrez hit a solo homer for the Eagles. Etiwanda travels to Temescal Canyon on Wednesday.
La Mirada 12, Roosevelt 4: Aubrey McLaughlin hit two home runs and Eva Bustamante added another in the loss for the Mustangs (19-9-1).
DIVISION 2
Ganesha 4, Millikan 0: Isabella Lopez tossed a four-hitter with nine strikeouts as the Giants (24-4-1) won a second-round game at home. Jules Alberto doubled home two runs during the fifth inning to double the lead. Ganesha plays at Santa Margarita on Wednesday.
Great Oak 7, Downey 1: Jocelyn James belted a three-run home run, and Chloe Koenigshofer added a two-run blast as the Wolfpack (19-10-1) won a second-round game on the road. Graclyn Necochea allowed one hit and one unearned run in six innings to pick up the victory. Great Oak hosts top-seeded California on Wednesday.
Palos Verdes 11, Linfield Christian 7: Charli Calas went 3 for 4 with two homers and five RBIs in the loss for the Lions (21-4).
Santa Margarita 13, Vista Murrieta 3: Kynarra Vuki hit a solo homer in the loss for the Broncos (18-12)
DIVISION 3
Aquinas 4, Tesoro 2: Zoey Galindo smacked a two-run homer in the top of the seventh inning to left the Falcons (19-10) to a second-round road win. Katie Coldiron threw a five-hitter to pick up the win in the circle. Wednesday, Aquinas will either host Royal or travel to Kennedy.
Cerritos Valley Christian 7, Arlington 4: Ahdrie Martinez knocked in a pair of runs in the loss by the Lions (17-6).
St. Paul 6, Alta Loma 2: Lexi Rodriguez went 3 for 4 and scored a run in the loss for Alta Loma (13-9).
Mission Viejo 14, Ramona 3: Olivia Chavez had a pair of hits in the loss for the Rams (19-8).
DIVISION 4
Hemet 2, Segestrom 1: Jayden Villela singled leading off the top of the eighth and scored the decisive run on an error with one out as the Bulldogs (16-12) won a second-round road game. Villela went 3 for 4 to lead a 10-hit attack. Ryanne Womack went the distance in the circle, allowing one run on five hits while striking out seven. Hemet hosts Elsinore or No. 2-seeded Warren on Wednesday.
Dos Pueblos 10, Colton 2: Valerie Varela hit a solo homer in the loss for the Yellowjackets (24-5).

Canyon Springs 5, Grace 1: Kendall Valdez tossed a two-hitter with 10 strikeouts and also hit a two-run homer to lead the Cougars (18-7) to a second-round road win. Isabella Rodriguez also drove in a pair of runs. Canyon Springs travels to third-seeded Cerritos on Wednesday.
Patriot 10, Kaiser 2: Payton Maynard went 3 for 4, scored two runs and drove in three more as the Warriors (18-8) won a second-round game at home. Patriot finished the game with 18 hits. Priscilla Quintanar went 4 for 4, while Miley Gates and Natalie Pieson each were 3 for 4. Dalia Islas scattered nine hits to earn the win. Patriot plays at St. Bonaventure on Wednesday.
DIVISION 6
San Jacinto 14, Eisenhower 3: Kamorah Johnson went 3 for 4 and drove in four runs as the Tigers (12-12) won a second-round game on the road. Keyera Cameron was 3 for 3 with a home run, three runs and two RBIs, while Genesis Ruiz was 2 for 3 with three runs and three RBIs. San Jacinto hosts Adelanto on Wednesday.
DIVISION 7
Lakeside 9, Yucca Valley 6: Terra Kelly went 3 for 3 with a home run, two runs and two RBIs as the Lancers (13-15) won a second-round game on the road. Adryanna Alvarez allowed three hits and struck out nine in six innings to pick up the win. Lakeside hosts Notre Dame on Wednesday.
Notre Dame 5, San Bernardino 1: Mikey Rodriguez allowed four hits and one unearned run as the Titans (12-11-1) won a second-round home game. Teresa Avila went 2 for 3 with two runs and an RBI. Notre Dame travels to Lakeside on Wednesday.
El Monte 9, Garey 7: Emily Melendez and Valerie Jimenez each drove in two runs in the loss for the Vikings (10-14)
Silverado 16, Rialto 4: Johanna Zamano homered and drove in two runs in the loss for the Knights (9-16).
DIVISION 8
United Christian Academy 12, Banning 11: Tiffany Sanchez singled in the wininng run with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning to cap a stunning comeback by the Eagles (11-6). UCA scored four runs in the final frame, three with two outs. Kirin Barcelo doubled in two runs to tie the score at 11. Sanchez and Liliana Perez each drove in three runs for UCA. Nicelle Soriano homered and drove in two runs for Banning (14-6). UCA will host Nuview Bridge or No. 4-seeded Lennox Academy on Wednesday.
Calvary Baptist 14, Academy of Careers & Exploration 0: Isabel Chatoney homered and drove in five runs as the Cougars (15-4) won a second-round game on the road. Reagan Hanson tossed a one-hitter with 12 strikouts and also knocked in four runs. Calvary Baptist hosts No. 3-seeded Hawthorne on Wednesday.
Cathedral City 15, Bethel Christian 6: Kaila Ellison (3 for 3) and Maliyah Jarrett both homered and drove in three runs in the loss for the Kings (16-8).
