A 45-year-old man walking in a crosswalk at Pepper Avenue and Foothill Boulevard in Rialto was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver around 11 p.m. on Thursday, April 18, authorities said.
Rialto police believe the victim was walking on the intersection’s north side when the suspect, driving southbound on Pepper toward Foothill, struck him and fled.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene after lifesaving measures were unsuccessful. His identity had not been released, pending the notification of next of kin.
