The Angeles National Forest said the fire was 40% contained, meaning that a control line has been established to stop part of the fire from spreading. Fire officials also said forward progress on the fire has been stopped.
A Sig Alert was issued by the California Highway Patrol, closing Soledad Canyon Road between Agua Dulce Canyon Road and Crown Valley Road.
Firefighting aircraft were dispatched to assist ground crews.
