An evacuation warning was lifted Thursday afternoon in Murrieta in neighborhoods near the Baxter fire, and fire officials reported that forward progress of the roughly 60-qcre blaze had been halted without any injuries or structure damage.
As of 5:30 p.m., the wildfire was 30% contained, according to officials. It started as a small vegetation fire first reported at 3:25 p.m. on the 35200 block of Avenida Mañana before growing at a “moderate rate” of speed.
No injuries or structure damage has been reported, according to CalFire Riverside spokesperson Maggie Cline De La Rosa.
One helicopter, 129 fire personnel, 39 engines, and one water tender were assigned to the fire. Crews will remain on scene for clean up.
Winds in the area are gusting around 10 to 15 mph, according to the National Weather Service.
