California politicians suddenly discover inflation in aftermath of election – Orange County Register
It would be fair to say that as voters in last month’s presidential election were giving Republicans control of all three branches of the federal government, they were tacitly rejecting the left-leaning cultural values that California politicians constantly espouse.Republican Donald Trump’s campaign effectively weaponized Vice President Kamala Harris’ California roots in sweeping the battleground states, most notably in an ad featuring a video clip of her advocating sex-change surgery for transexual prison inmates.“Kamala is for they/them. Trump is for you,” the spot concludes. Post-election analysts, including the New York Times, have cited it as the single most effective ad of the campaign.Furthermore,…

The ink has barely dried on the 2024 election results — but already attention has turned to the 2026 cycle, particularly for local House races. The election last month gave Republicans much to cheer. The GOP swept control of the White House, the U.S. Senate and the House. But in Orange County, Democrats found more success this cycle. They managed to flip one of the six House seats that touch the county — attorney Derek Tran beat Rep. Michelle Steel in California’s 45th congressional district — and hang on to two other seats that proved to be tight contests this year. With that…

LOS ANGELES — Everything he says in front of a microphone, Eric Musselman smirked Sunday, is calculated. And he speaks, firstly, not to the general public. He speaks, firstly, to his own program. Two weeks ago, USC reeling amid a three-game losing streak, head coach Musselman told reporters “I don’t know how many Big Ten games we’re gonna win” after a loss to Oregon. It was not the work of loose lips, fueled by emotion. It was planned. It was a coach who was fully aware his players had eyes and ears and social media, and would no doubt see a…
