The brackets for the 2025 CIF State basketball playoffs were released late Sunday afternoon.
The Roosevelt boys team and the Ontario Christian girls team received the No. 1 seed in the Open Division Southern California regional brackets.
Roosevelt (32-2) won the CIF Southern Section’s Open Division girls championship Saturday. The Mustangs received a first-round bye and will face either No. 4 Harvard-Westlake (30-2) or No. 5 St. John Bosco (26-6) in the regional semifinals Saturday at 7 p.m. Roosevelt has beaten St. John Bosco twice this season but has not faced Harvard-Westlake. The Mustangs suffered losses to Harvard-Westlake in last year’s section and state regional title games.

Ontario Christian (29-1) captured the Southern Section’s Open Division girls title Saturday. The Knights also received a first-round bye and will face either No. 4-seeded Sierra Canyon (27-2) or No. 5-seeded Mission Hills of San Marcos (23-8) in a regional semifinal game Saturday at 7 p.m.. Ontario Christian knocked off Sierra Canyon in the section playoffs.
The Etiwanda girls basketball team is the state’s two-time defending Open Division champ. The Eagles (25-5) were the Southern Section’s Open Division runner-up this season and are seeded No. 2 in the regional bracket. Etiwanda has a bye and faces either Mater Dei (28-3) or Bishop Montgomery (22-5). The Eagles beat Mater Dei in the section playoffs.
Fourteen other Inland basketball teams secured state tournament bids by advancing to at least the semifinals in their respective section playoff bracket.
The Rancho Christian girls basketball team claimed the Southern Section’s Division 1 championship Friday and received the No. 5 seed in the Division I state regional bracket. The Eagles (25-8) host No. 12-seeded Oak Park (21-3) in the first round Tuesday at 7 p.m. Oak Park was the Southern Section’s Division 2AA champion.
Moreno Valley, a Southern Section Division 1 semifinalist, is the No. 7 seed in the Division I girls regional bracket. The Vikings (25-7) host No. 10-seeded Santa Maria St. Joseph (22-7) in the opening round Tuesday at 7 p.m. St. Joseph was a semifinalist in the Central Section’s Division 1 playoffs.
Centennial, a Southern Section Division 2AA semifinalist, is the No. 16 seed in the Division I boys regional bracket. The Huskies (17-17) make the trip to top-seeded Sierra Canyon (22-7) for a first-round game Tuesday at 7 p.m. Sierra Canyon was a Southern Section Open Division qualifier this season.
Riverside Poly, another Southern Section Division 2AA semifinalist, received the No. 1 seed in the Division II boys regional bracket. The Bears (22-10) open at home Tuesday at 7 p.m. against No. 16-seeded Sage Creek of Carlsbad (21-9). Sage Creek was a semifinalist in the San Diego Section’s Division 1 playoffs.

Threee Inland boys teams will be competing in the Division III regional tournament.
Aquinas, the Southern Section’s Division 3A champion, is the No. 9 seed in the bracket. The Falcons (17-16) play at No. 8-seeded North Bakersfield (27-6) in a first-round game Tuesday at 7 p.m. North Bakersfield was the Central Section’s Division 3 champion.
San Dimas, the Southern Section’s Division 3A runner-up, is seeded No. 10 in the bracket. The Saints (20-12) make the trip to No. 7-seeded Mira Mesa of San Diego (26-6) for a first-round game Tuesday at 7 p.m. Mira Mesa was the San Diego Section’s Division 2 runner-up.
Norte Vista, a semifinalist in the Southern Section’s Division 3A playoffs, is seeded No. 12. The Braves (25-7) head to No. 5-seeded San Gabriel Academy (16-13) for a first-round game Tuesday at 7 p.m.. San Gabriel Academy was a semifinalist in the Southern Section’s Division 3AA playoffs.
The Chaparral girls team, a semifinalist in the Southern Section Division 3AA playoffs, is the No. 14 seed for the Division III regional . The Pumas (18-11) travel to No. 3-seeded Garfield (20-5) for a first-round game Tuesday at 7 p.m. Garfield was an LA City Section Open Division qualifier.
Three Inland boys teams are in the Division IV regional tournament.
Ramona, the Southern Section’s Division 4AA runner-up, is seeded No. 9. The Rams (26-7) travel to No. 8-seeed San Diego Southwest (25-7) for a first-round game Tuesday at 7 p.m. Southwest was the San Diego Section’s Division 3 runner-up.
Elsinore, a semifinalist in the Southern Section’s Division 4AA playoffs, is the No. 12 seed. The Tigers (21-11) head to No. 5-seeded Grant of Van Nuys (17-14) for a first-round game Tuesday at 7 p.m. Grant was the LA City Section’s Division 1 runner-up.
Citrus Hill, the Southern Section’s Division 4A runner-up, is seeded No. 16. The Hawks (19-13) play at top-seeded Fresno Christian (26-6) in first-round game Tuesday at 7 p.m. Fresno Christian was the Central Section’s Division 4 champion.
The Hillcrest girls team, which won the Southern Section’s Division 5AA title, is seeded No. 3 for the Division V regional. The Trojans (21-7) host No. 14-seeded Marshall (11-14) in a first-round game Tuesday at 7 p.m. Marshall was a semifinalist in the Southern Section’s Division 5A playoffs.
The Kaiser boys team, the Southern Section’s Division 5AA champion, is the No. 4 seed in the Division V regional bracket. The Cats (22-10) host No. 13-seeded Rosemead (16-13) in a first-round game Tuesday at 7 p.m. Rosemead was the Southern Section’s Division 5A runner-up.
Diamond Ranch, the Southern Section’s Division 5AA boys runner-up, is the No. 5 seed for the Division V regional. The Panthers (19-15) host No. 12-seeded New West Charter (14-6) in a first-round game Tuesday at 7 p.m. New West Charter was the LA City’s Section’s Division 5 champion
