GLENDALE, Ariz. — Add Farhan Zaidi to the Dodgers’ list of offseason acquisitions.
The Dodgers’ general manager for four seasons from 2015 through 2018, Zaidi is rejoining the organization as a special advisor. Additionally, Zaidi will help Dodgers owner Mark Walter with his other sports properties. In addition to being the controlling owner of the Dodgers, Walter has investments in the Sparks, Chelsea Football Club and the Professional Women’s Hockey League.
Zaidi joined the Dodgers in the fall of 2014 after starting his career in baseball with the Oakland A’s. He left the Dodgers following the 2018 season to become president of baseball operations for the San Francisco Giants.
During Zaidi’s six seasons with the Giants, the team won a franchise-record 107 games and interrupted the Dodgers’ run of NL West division titles in 2021. Zaidi was named the Sporting News Executive of the Year and MLB Executive of the Year.
The Giants did not have winning records in any of the next three seasons and Zaidi was dismissed by the Giants following the 2024 season. Buster Posey replaced him.
