FRIDAY’S TOP GAMES
Norco (1-0) at Colony (1-0), 7 p.m.
IE Varsity info: Norco withstood a late comeback by Cajon and held on for a 35-27 victory in last week’s opener. Julian Medina passed for 214 yards and two touchdowns, and Blake Wong caught nine passes for 168 yards and two scores. Linebacker Henderson Carter led the Cougars on defense with nine tackles and two interceptions. Colony cruised to a 34-0 victory over Ontario Christian last week. Jordan Juarez tossed a touchdown pass and also ran in score to lead the way for the Titans.
Prediction: Norco
Murrieta Valley (1-0) vs. Servite (0-1) at Mt. San Antonio College, 7 p.m.
IE Varsity info: Murrieta Valley jumped out to a 28-0 lead last week and held on for a 28-26 win over Rancho Cucamonga. Ty Isaia and Daniel Mielke II shared time at quarterback. Isaia passed for 211 yards and two touchdowns, and Mielke threw for another 88 yards. Derrick Johnson II (Oklahoma) shined on both sides, including three catches for 106 yards. Abelardo Leos and Josiah Anyansi each had two sacks for the Nighthawks on defense. Servite looks to bounce back from last week’s 42-14 setback to Centennial. Kale Murphy had a pair of touchdown passes in the loss. Sevelino Taliauli had two sacks and two forced fumbles.

Murrieta Mesa (1-0) at Vista Murrieta (1-0), 7 p.m.
IE Varsity info: Murrieta Mesa pulled out a 33-27 win over Newport Harbor when Coleman Jones tossed a 32-yard touchdown pass to Chris Flores with 28 seconds on the clock. Daniel Ritchie ran for 95 yards and a touchdown and also caught two passes for 42 yards. Vista Murrieta opened the season with a 47-25 victory over Great Oak. Bryson Beaver completed 26 of 33 passes for 297 yards and two touchdowns, and Damarii Booth added 146 yards and three touchdowns on the ground for the Broncos. Linebacker Joshua Baker returned an interception 28 yards for a touchdown. Vista Murrieta is 14-0 against their crosstown opponent, with an average margin of victory of 34.3 points.

Etiwanda (1-0) at Citrus Valley (0-0), 7 p.m.
IE Varsity info: Etiwanda coach Paul Unga won his debut for his alma mater as the Eagles cruised to a 36-13 win over Grand Terrace last week. Keegan Campuzano passed for 236 yards and two touchdowns, while Jaleel Sutton ran for 201 yards and a touchdown. Citrus Valley was one of the few Inland teams that waited until this week for its season opener. Preston Lauwers is one of the top offensive lineman in the Inland area, and he will protect quarterback Dom Robles. Linebacker Ismael Gonzalez averaged 16 tackles per game last season for the Blackhawks.

Lakeside (1-0) at Tahquitz (1-0), 7 p.m.
IE Varsity info: Lakeside made Austin Jones a winner in his coaching debut, as the Lancers defeated Pomona 31-14 last week. Robert Arellano passed for 264 yards and scored twice on the ground. Linebacker Justice Holm led the defensive effort with an interception and a forced fumble. Tahquitz opened the season with a 31-14 victory over Hemet to reclaim the McGowan Cup. Terrell Strong ran for 173 yards and two touchdowns, and Jacob Arbuckle racked up 186 yards from scrimmage and hauled in a pair of touchdowns. Strong and Arbuckle also had interceptions on defense.

Eisenhower (0-1) at Colton (1-0), 7 p.m.
IE Varsity info: Eisenhower looks to bounce back from last week’s 14-0 loss to Moreno Valley. Aiden Smith had seven tackles to lead the defense, and Diondre Johnson forced a fumble and recovered a fumble for the Eagles. Colton routed Jurupa Valley 61-0 in last week’s opener. Koa Regalado passed for 189 yards and three touchdowns and Tyler Zesk scored two touchdowns (rushing, fumble return) for the Yellowjackets.

Temecula Valley (1-0) at Elsinore (1-0). 7 p.m.
IE Varsity info: Temecula Valley opened with a 28-21 victory over Liberty last week. Brody Schumacher led the Golden Bears on defense with 11 tackles, and Chase Wulfenstein recorded a sack and also forced a fumble. Elsinore cruised to a 60-14 victory in last week’s opener against Heritage. Kai Tamagpong ran for 197 yards and three touchdowns, one of which went for 98 yards. Brayden Stankus added a pair of touchdown passes for the Tigers.
Prediction: Temecula Valley
Diamond Ranch (1-0) at Bonita (0-1), 7 p.m.
IE Varsity info: Diamond Rancho knocked off Ganesha 42-20 in last week’s opener. Isaiah Salinas passed for 155 yards and two touchdowns, while Tristan Kinney and Jalen Gallegos combined to rush for 250 yards and score four touchdowns. Bonita hopes to rebound from a 17-14 loss to Muir last week. Joseph Lara displayed his all-around skills for the Bearcats. He ran for 77 yards and a touchdown and caught seven passes for 78 yards. He is a standout linebacker and also returned a punt for a touchdown.
Prediction: Bonita
