More than two years after a Nashville man went missing after last being seen at a Redlands coffee shop, investigators are following new leads related to the disappearance, police announced on Friday.
Shortly after visiting a Starbucks on Redlands Boulevard on May 25, 2023, Emilio Salem Ghanem was reported missing. Authorities say a rented Nissan Frontier pickup Ghanem had been driving was spotted on surveillance video later that same day in Grand Terrace.
That rental truck — along with other unspecified evidence — was recently recovered by detectives, according to a Redlands Police Department statement. Authorities did not specify where they found the truck.
Ghanem — who worked for a pest control business — had been a member of “His Way Spirit Led Assemblies,” a religious organization based in Hemet, police said. He left the organization shortly before his disappearance, police added. The pest control business, Fullshield Inc. at the time, was owned by the group, police said. It’s now named Maxguard.

Detectives recently learned that another member of His Way Spirit Led Assemblies was reported missing in 2019 and has not been seen since, according to the police statement.
Authorities did not specific if they suspect a direct link between Ghanem and the another missing man, Ruben Moreno, whose disappearance is being investigated by Claremont police investigators. Authorities did not specify the details of Moreno’s disappearance.
Ghanem, who was 40 at the time of his disappearance, is White with hazel eyes and black hair, 5-foot-7 inches tall and weighing about 130 pounds.
Moreno, who was 43 at the time of his disappearance, is Latino with brown eyes and black hair, 5-foot-6 inches tall and about 180 pounds, according to a missing person request for public assistance bulletin released by the Claremont Police Department on Friday.
Authorities are asking anyone with information about Ghanem’s disappearance to contact the Redlands Police Detective Bureau at 909-551-4424 or by emailing missingperson_emilio@redlandspolice.org. They are asking anyone with information about Moreno’s disappearance to contact the Claremont Police Department at 909-399-5411.
