A Riverside man was arrested on Wednesday on suspicion of murder in the death of a San Bernardino man in Colton, authorities said.
At around 5 a.m. on Monday, June 16, Colton Police Department officers responded to reports that someone was shot on the 3600 block of Placentia Lane, near Orange Street, in Colton, according to a Colton Police news release. Responding officers found a person, identified as 41-year-old Kristian Gutierrez of San Bernardino, suffering from gunshot wounds. Gutierrez died at the scene.
Detectives with the Colton PD identified 54-year-old Anthony Anguiano as the suspect in Gutierrez’s death, the news release said. An arrest warrant was obtained for his arrest.
On Wednesday, June 25, detectives with Colton PD, with assistance from the Riverside Police Department, located Anguiano in the 2700 block of 5th Street in Riverside. He was taken into custody and booked into a jail on suspicion of murder.
