Two men were arrested in Hemet on Tuesday, April 22 on suspicion of human trafficking, sexual assault, and torture, police announced.
The investigation began on March 12, when Hemet Police Department officers responded to Hemet Global Medical Center following a report of sexual abuse, the department said.
Detectives determined that the victim had been subjected to torture, sexual assault, and forced prostitution. During the investigation, a second victim came forward and reported being trafficked, raped, and physically assaulted by the same suspects. Authorities are withholding the victims’ identities for their privacy and safety.
Investigators identified Davion Marshall and Travis Grisham as the primary suspects. Both were arrested Tuesday in the 300 block of South State Street and booked into the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility on multiple felony charges, including torture and human trafficking. Bail for each was set at $1 million.
No further details were provided. It was not clear how the suspects knew the victims or where the alleged crimes occurred.
The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with additional information is urged to contact Investigator Daniel Cortez at 951-765-2433. Anonymous tips can also be submitted through the Hemet Police Department’s free mobile app.
